What services do you provide for pediatric patients?
Dr. Ude-Oshiyoye and Dr. Oshiyoye commonly see pediatric patients for their yearly checkups and immunizations. They see children for other routine visits including:
- Sports physicals
- Care for acute injury
- Sick visits (infection, cold, and flu)
How often should my child see the doctor?
Well-child visits are a great time to ask any questions you have about your child’s development, check with the doctor about any concerns you have, and learn about preventive measures to keep your child healthy. Dr. Ude-Oshiyoye and Dr. Oshiyoye can help you navigate the immunization schedule to ensure your child is up to date on their vaccinations.
Before age three, The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends your child see the doctor at the following intervals:
- Two to five days old
- One month
- Two months
- Four months
- Six months
- Nine months
- One year
- 15 months
- 18 months
- Two years
- 2 1/2 years
Once your child reaches age three, he or she should see the doctor once a year for a well-child visit.
Aside from well-child visits, your child should see the doctor anytime they’re injured or abnormally sick. In situations when you’re unsure, don’t hesitate to call to bring your child in for a sick visit.
What are the benefits of having a family doctor?
Dr. Ude-Oshiyoye and Dr. Oshiyoye both have training in a wide range of medical practices, from newborn to geriatric patients. As family doctors, they can take care of your whole family’s needs under one roof.
The convenience of being able to schedule everyone’s checkups at the same time is a huge time saver for busy parents. This is especially true when a contagious illness affects the whole family, because you won’t have to make multiple appointments on the opposite sides of town.
As a husband and wife team, Dr. Ude-Oshiyoye and Dr. Oshiyoye share your family-focused values and enjoy learning about your family’s dynamics. By going to the same practice, everyone in the family shares the same familiarity with their doctors.
Your doctors also get insight into your family’s medical history when all members go to the same clinic. They can even involve the whole family in the care of each other.
Finally, having a family doctor means your children will never outgrow their doctor when they turn 18. They can still see Dr. Ude-Oshiyoye and Dr. Oshiyoye well into adulthood.
